Substrate Preference:
Best Substrates: Hardwood logs, especially oak or chestnut.
Growing Conditions: Chicken of the Woods requires a cooler climate, with ideal temperatures of 16-21°C (60-70°F).
Cultivation Tips:
Incubation: Colonization may take several months, as the mushroom needs time to break down the wood.
Fruiting: This species tends to fruit after rainstorms or increased moisture. Keep the logs in a shaded and moist environment.
Harvesting: Harvest when the caps are soft and bright orange for the best flavor.
